The following grants were some of those that Giving Hope awarded during 2018:

The Plymouth-Canton Literacy Council - $2500
The Community Literacy Council Parent Tutor Grant - New technology is needed to promote and evaluate a project of increasing English literacy amoung parents of students in K-5.  The funds will be used for a MacBook Pro computer, an HP laser-jet printer and ink cartridges.
 
Plymouth Community Arts Council - $1325
Made2Share, Art Service Project Workshop Series - This grant will provide supplies, venue and purpose for participating students.  The program will provide six school-day-off service opportunities.  The completed projects, such as a fleece blanket, will be given to people in need through agencies like the Salvation Army.
 
First Step - $5000
Survivor Outreach for Plymouth and Canton - To meet the needs of the diverse racial/ethnic populations residing in this community, supportive materials in languages such as Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi are needed.  This grant will provide funds to translate, produce and distribute the materials.  It will also help with translation services to be used during counseling sessions or helpline calls. 
 
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention of Southeast Michigan - $500
These funds, along with money collected from "Pass the Purse" at the October Giving Hope event, will be given to this organization to support their various programs.
